Variations of JPEG-LS and Its Applications

چکیده
JPEG-LS is the latest JPEG lossless and near lossless image compression standard distributed in 1999. From our experience of testing and evaluating this standard, we propose a number of variations to strengthen its application and efficiency. These include: (a) adaptive distortion distribution for its near lossless compression mode; (b) low-cost rate control schemes, and (c) possible improvement on prediction.
